When you have lost one or more teeth, you have the option of having implants placed to replace the missing tooth or teeth. Implants are at the cutting-edge of dentistry and are becoming more affordable and more popular.

An implant is simply a small titanium screw which is gently placed under the gum where the tooth or teeth are missing. After a few months, this screw becomes fused to your bone and is then strong enough to support a crown, bridge or denture.

The advantage of having implants to replace missing teeth is that there is no drilling or damage needed to the teeth next to the gap - as is the case with bridgework.

The only other option to replace a missing tooth is to wear a denture which many people find intolerable and so implants offer a new way of replacing teeth in a safe, comfortable and predictable way.

If you choose to have an implant placed, we will send you to see a surgeon who will place the titanium screw according to our instructions. We will then provide the final restoration here at the Kirriemuir Dental Practice once the implant has fused and is strong. renaissancelogo.jpg
